About us

Oromo Relief Association Australia-South Pacific Region Inc.  is a humanitarian organisation based in Australia. ORAA raises funds to relieve poverty and distress among the Oromo community in Australia and Oromo and Ethiopian refugees in the Horn of Africa. It is providing support for refugee background communities during their settlement period. Engaging young with various of activities, such as soccer, art and schooling.

Strategic Directions

The Strategic Directions for Oromo Relief Association Australia-South Pacific Region Inc. (ORAA-SPR) have three core elements that set out our reason for being, what we want to achieve and how we want to be seen. Strategic Directions set out these core elements and explains how they relate to each other and support Oromo Relief Association Australia-South Pacific Region Inc. in being the effective it can be.

Oromo Relief Association Australia –South Pacific Region Purpose

The Oromo Relief Association Australia –South Pacific Region Inc. purpose describes the Association’s reason for being. Oromo Relief Association Australia-South Pacific Region Inc. purpose is:

1. To become a strong channel to help those with acute humanitarian needs to overcome predicament and build a better future

2. To provide support for Oromo and other nationalities from the Horn of Africa who have been affected by armed conflicts and other man-made and natural disasters

3. To mobilise humanitarian aid and provide relief assistance leading to self-reliance

Oromo Relief Association Australia –South Pacific Region Core Values

Oromo Relief Association Australia –South Pacific Region Core Values are the essential and enduring building blocks of the Association. Oromo Relief Association Australia-South Pacific Region Inc. is bound by and actively engaged with these Core Values. To provide affirmation to stakeholders through demonstrating the Oromo Relief Association Australia –South Pacific Region its services are fairly, effectively and efficiently delivered.

  • Strengthening our community focus services in line with Australian Government regulations and directions

To build our community focus services in accordance with the Australian government policies and strategic plan.

  • Developing  network  with other similar  organisations

To link with other humanitarian organisations to share information and experiences

  • Building capacity for Oromo Relief Association Australia –South Pacific Region

To have adequate resources and underlying capacity to progress the ORAA-SPR goal and objectives on an ongoing basis and in times of needs and crisis
